Picnic and Annual Meeting

 

Dear Fellow Officials,

 

I would like to take this opportunity to invite each and every one of you to the RHOA annual picnic and association meeting. This years festivities will be held on 9/20/09 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at:

The association will be providing all of the food and drinks, so all we need to know is the number of people that each official will be bringing. It would be greatly appreciated if each official could RSVP by 9/15/09. The RSVP's can be sent by clicking the here.

 

In addition to the picnic, the annual meeting will be held at 4:00 pm. It is strongly recommended that each official attends this meeting. There will be quite a bit of important information that will be conveyed in addition to how to be assigned games and how to be paid for these games. It is also recommended note taking materials be brought to the meeting.

 

One of the items we will be discussing will be the nomination and election of officers for RHOA. If you are interested in becoming an officer for RHOA, please send me a note letting me now what position you would like to have your name placed on the ballot. Below is a short synopsis of what the duties are for each position:

President:

It shall be the duty of the President to preside at all membership meetings of RHOA, To execute the affairs of the Association in accordance with the Constitution and the standard operating procedures, preside at all Board meetings and such other duties that may be required from time to time. Serve as the sole representative of the association with USA HOCKEY, client hockey organizations, and to the general public except when such functions have been duly delegated to other officers or active members. Appoints members to serve on standing or special committees and conducts the affairs of the association with the advice and consent of the Board. All members in good standing are eligible for this office.

Vice-President:

It shall be the duty of the vice-president to assume the duties of the President when necessary. Reports to the President and is generally responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing the business interests of the Association. He shall serve as the liaison between the RHOA and the hockey organization with which the association has arrangements to provide officials.

Treasurer:

It shall be the duty of the Treasurer to maintains custody of the Associations funds and such records as may required by the Board, state and federal law. He shall be empowered to maintain a checking account in the name of the RHOA for purposes of collecting dues and making any disbursements as are authorized by the Board and affirmed by the membership. He shall collect all dues and maintain a membership roster showing Names, addresses, e-mail addresses, and telephone numbers of all Association members.

Secretary:

It shall be the responsibility of the Secretary to report to the President and serve as the administrative officer of the Association. He maintains the minutes of all Board, membership and special meetings and gives due notice of all such meetings to the membership. Periodically notifies the members of items of interest and special concern. Maintain membership records and attendance information.

With the exception of Treasurer, all other positions are volunteer positions. The office of Treasurer receives a small stripened for the additional time necessary to complete the payment of officials and other financial related transactions.

 

All positions require the person to be 18 years of age or older.
